Fascinating, the human race professes fear over a "Skynet" style technology takeover, but the reality is much more subtle, insidious...and already here.
It's a typical question to ask oneself as a first time father, "Will I be a good parent?" My advice, you'll do fine, just BE there for them. The rest comes natural.
Truly one more thing I do not miss about Southern California. I agree, 6 foot tumbleweeds not a new thing. I remember 20 years ago driving Highway 15 and hitting one as big as my Crown Vic near Devore. It also begs the question, why is everyone who lives in Devore drunk? Answer is, you have to be to live in Devore :D
Such a terrible idea, 30 years the movie industry has evolved... ideas, directing, cinematography, and acting are of significantly different styles and techniques. Still the big movie studios would much rather gamble their investment on something "known" than something new. It could certainly work if the franchise is completely reinvented for today's audiences, but I doubt it would be. Certainly not interested in seeing 60-something year old actors either try to act half their age or make jokes about getting older. Coming to America with Chris Rock or Donald Glover? Then I'd be interested.
I've seen similar at other national and state parks, Bodie as a recent example...they collect the letters in a notebook at the visitors center. It's a fun topic to discuss and study. As humans, we're hardwired to look for patterns and correlation; it's what allowed our ancestors to hunt and survive. It's time to evolve past that, it's ridiculous what some believe now to be real.
I'm artistically inclined, and was good at advanced mathematics in college. Dr. Brian May is an astrophysicist. Dr. Dexter Holland is a molecular biologist. Both are fantastic and talented musicians. The correlation that artistic talent correlates with fear or ineptitude of math is spurious at best, stereotypical at worst.
