I wonder if she has some genetic trait that gives her "immunity" to capsiacin, in a similar way to how some people are not affected by poison ivy, or if there is some similar explanation of her ability? Any thoughts out there...?

I thought they were trying to get her to open the door to the bunker, which I guess, is still a possible ending. However, the 'targeting her bunker' ending seems the intended one. I enjoyed the film.

This explanation seems obvious, and nothing new to me. It's just couched in behavioral and sociological terms. I think a fuller explanation of why humans cry would be to include how and why the tearing behavior as a sign became attached to the sociological factors. There could be many other possible ways to signal submission, etc. besides occluding eyesight, for instance. It seems the audible aspect of crying would be sufficient.

Yes, I'm focusing on the explanation for tearing, BTW.

"make up stupid new 'sports' because there’s too much competition in other ones"

Even our 'established sports' are always evolving (basketball 3-point line, etc.). New sports have been appearing, evolving, and radiating into others since the dawn of history, and presumably, before--for many complex reasons. Some 'serious' reasons for this can be easily guessed at, but for many modern sports, I think joie de vivre, human curiosity and an interested, enthusiastic community is sufficient to 'sport' as one likes.

It appears to me that these girls have the skills be good at a good many sports besides 'bike dancing'. They don't need to apologize or make excuses to anybody for what they do. They will reap the benefits of achievement in sport just as many millions of other young people do.

You're right about curling, though.

"When posting things like this you really must point to the fact that it’s a concept, not a functioning model." I strongly agree. What's up Neatorama?

Clotting and infection are a major risk with this, as they are with all current artificial veins and subcutaneous accesses.

I thought it was pretty obvious she was lying. Additionally, I thought the tattoo was done rather well, though I didn't think it improved her appearance. Wow, if her dad's anger hurt, Internet infamy has got to really hurt... and keep on hurting. I wonder how much it would cost to have the tat removed, and if removal from the face would still leave scars?
