part of me doesn't want anything to change - i love this site!
reader profile links might be interesting (i'm no techie so i don't know the lingo) - just a hyperlink from the screenname to find out the basics about posters. i'm often curious who commentors are (or purport to be).
keep the kitties. maybe balance them with more dogs, but c'mon, dogs aren't funny.
the verizon ads especially slow me down, and are too easy to accidentally click on.
even the ***bush administration*** has admitted that global warming is a scientific reality. i can't believe that it is being disputed by neatorama readers. lovelock's opinions are pretty strongly worded and i can understand that he may come across as a quack, but GLOBAL WARMING IS HERE!
jandzmom has a very good point, that the whole point of going on exchange is about being independant and immersing yourself in a foreign culture. contact with home is discouraged and often difficult to achieve, and who wants to look like a spoiled american crying for mama?
leslie, where on Globalvoicesonline.org can i find the article? i'd be really interested to hear another angle on the situation.
what do a 16 year old and 36 year old even have in commmon?! i'm a mere 32, and I don't particularly care to spend time with teenagers. hell, some of my friends' kids are(younger) teenagers.
that's why i never bother with the flu vaccine (beside the fact that i'm not a big fan of needles) - it's developed based on complete guesswork, and you run the risk of having a bad reaction to the vaccine, so i take my chances and, knock wood, no flu in over a decade
always check the source of these studies. i'm not taking the time to on this one, but i have researched this dillema before and the vast majority of data was coming from the styro companies, not 3rd parties.
i find the bottom of the ocean fascinating. the us has spent how many billions of dollars to explore the barren moon, but we still haven't found the bottom of the sea in spots . . .
