a couple years back, i had to study up on muon neutrinos and other subatomic particles in order to write good copy and develop good graphics on an exhibit that features the science behind "seeing" them. i'm afraid even the site of these innocuous cute little plush fellas is still enough to make my brain hurt bad. i'm curled up in the fetal position as i type this. i want my mommy.
odd. I was full-on vegan for a short while, and a vegetarian for three years. as i sit and think about it, i find i know about ten vegans, and probably have known about 20 friends in the last ten years who were vegetarian. all of them talked about how (and i, myself learned that) shopping at a grocery store takes about twice as much time and about 1.5 x as much money. maybe our friends should get together and hug it out.
errr... actually, i know of not one vegan or vegetarian that thinks not eating meat saves money. do you mean the good ol' cheap college diet of cheese pizzas and cheap Subway veggie delites or something?
Jennifer - i'd suggest this quick sampling of the following videos. they contrast the more dominant bad rap (pardon the awful pun) the music genre gets.
Public Enemy suggests the youth of america need to quit shooting each other and quit wasting their brain cells on 40 oz malt liquor bottles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gp2dokgYdDQ
Talib Kweli pleads pretty much doing the same thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77zxCAfVeD8
Mos Def raps about how inner city kids need to start believing they are worth something because of things like familial love, not because of bling bling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLKTbSNkdLI
the list goes on and on, but this is the subset of hip hop that gets largely unnoticed by most of middle class america.
on a tangent - what's with all the vintage cars? most photos are from the 90s, yet the vehicles are either 1960 and 70s vehicles.
