I'm amazed that chicago is one of the least painful. My daily commute from the mid north side to downtown - only about 1/5 of the total N-S distance of the city - was often a 1.5 to 2 hour hell on earth.
i was following a trailer the other day, and i noticed the tail lights/signals were not hooked up to the pickup truck doing the pulling. illegal, and also annoying since i was constantly late in noticing it was slowing or stopping. once the truck turned, i noticed it was our local fire department's mobile safety/education unit. oye.
It's Northwestern (one word). some good people there, but definitely some uppity-elitist types too. ahhh, Evanston, the land of mansions and drive-by shootings, only mere blocks from each other.
