The study as presented is flawed. Suggested redesign:
The proposed sex object (PSO), male or female, should be placed directly in front of the person being surveyed. A television, with the same PSO on screen, should be placed to either the right or the left of the actual PSO. To avoid right/left bias, the positions of actual PSO and television screen with PSO should be randomly ordered.
Once this arrangement is finalized, the subject, actual PSO and television set should be left alone and the situation observed from behind a two way mirror.
If the subject has sex with the actual PSO, a checkmark is placed "Sex with PSO = YES" if the subject has sex with the television screen, a checkmark is placed "Sex with Television = YES"
If the subject runs out of the room to escape in either situation, it is marked accordingly.
This experimental design is the only way to know, de facto, human preference for having sex with an actual person, or having sex with a television.
Incidentally, it is NOT known conclusively if a person having sex with a television will result in pregnancy. This hypothesis should be a subject for a subsequent study.
