The Latin metallurgical treatise was translated as a joint project by Lou & Herbert -- a fine example of the character of their relationship. Herbert Hoover did in fact respond to the partisan smear by FDR and the Democratic Party that slanderously attempted to blame him for the disaster created by Wall Street -- in 1929 in the third volume of his Memoirs. More recently, his discussion of FDR's foreign policy, Freedom Betrayed, has been published posthumously. Both these books are important reading for American citizens who what to understand what really happened in our country in and to our country in the mid 20th-century.
