Very important work, not just apples but the origin of many species of plants we grow now are going to extinct. We have the current phenotype that's suitable for conditions that are happening right now but the parents of those phenotypes are more suitable for cultivating strains for changing conditions. We might have to start that process all over again some day in the very near future, we need those "original" DNA strains to be well preserved and not our interpretation of that organism, which is "right here, right now" suitable variety.

Don't you think they tried to to those things? Some cars won't allow you to change gears or any other action that might damage the vehicle (idiotproofing isn't always a good thing..)

The problem is that with all the drive-by-wire digital technology they've forgotten the one thing that can stop every machine: main switch. Analog, simple mechanical switch that turns ALL the power off even if it damages the machine. The three rules of robotics are simply forgotten, the machine can die if it means a humanbeing stays alive. That was the first thing i complained when i saw the first keyless car; what if you need to shut it down and the system is unresponsive, the lack of main switch is just baffling.. The cost of the part and wiring is in tens of euros or less. The cost of control units, both hardware and software, sensors, wiring etc is in thousands.

Skateboarding looks cool precisely for the same reasons why scooters don't.. It has "girly" stance (hands close to body and each other etc) whereas skateboarding still has a lot surfing and free movement in it.

Nope. It's not Blizzards fault at all. One may ask thou that should Blizzard stop their services to be used in China but that's a totally different matter. It's good to see that online players are actually pretty empathic bunch (of whiners and trolls.)

Few times but you need to know some divers first.. They know the best locations and store schedules.. Usually i just want the non-perishables like olive oil and the like that lasts for years but are thrown out anyway. Also it's semi-illegal here so you need to know what stores tolerate it and be on good terms with the security personnel.. It's just too bad vast majority of the security guards think that it is robbing and treat divers as such. But there are those who see who wasteful the stores really are and at least tolerate something that is really useful...

Knowing some divers first hand will definitely help you a lot, they have surplus of some items, cans and cans of stuff that they just want to give away... With good active group you can even barter with, you got fresh bread, they got corn flakes..

Old school methods surely do help. Maybe it's the pace and consideration as a lot of those techniques are destructive and there is no undo. None. Everything is permanent and you can't create ten backups on your 50 terabyte Unity... You mess it up and that's it: you can screw work of tens of peoples and hundreds of hours. So you learn to think before you edit, plus the basics becomes ingrained. You can learn to be good editor with just modern tools but i feel that one should make at least one project with analog-only tools that has zero undo levels. Sometimes you just don't have a chance of second take just because you can't afford any extra foots..

It has a nice warning at the end that these instructions only apply to doors that open away from the the user and has hinges on the left side.. Nice Pythony touch there..
