The priorities of the Pakistani government are obviously ridiculous and I'm pretty sure that this is their attempt to convince themselves that they can still get something done. The actual population (from my own outsider perspective) appears to know that this is a ridiculous waste of time. Hopefully worldwide ridicule will persuade them to change their mind on this.
