A bit of trivia: Princeton is the only Ivy League school with no Law School, Business School, and no Medical School. Princeton did actually have a Law School for a brief period in the mid 1800s and the school has been used as the alma mater of several fictional characters:

It would be a sad world if everything had to be just 30 seconds long (or spelled out from the beginning) to satisfy our ridiculously short attention spans these days.

Unfortunately this story has been taken out of context and twisted to give it an anti ginger angle. I heard an interview last night with the director of the bank on PRI's "The World" that made no such claims about parents not wanting ginger children. Parents using the bank generally want a donor that "looks like" the father (or like one of the moms in the lesbian case). They don't just pick willy-nilly. The bank is located in Denmark and draws its donors mainly from Scandinavia and Northern Europe where there is a higher than average prevalence of redheads and blonds. They've also stopped taking donations from blue-eyed blond men too, but this isn't getting reported because it doesn't draw any hype or linkbait.

FWIW, I have red hair and was bullied in school. I'm not sure if it was due to my coloring or because I was a shy nerd though.

@Cass: That's what I thought too! I've eaten at both the Eastside and Westside Melt restaurants in Cleveland. Their specialty, however, is definitely not "fast food" or "sandwiches that can be cooked up in under a minute." It usually takes over an hour just to get a table, and then more time for your order to arrive. It is good though, and they have a great selection of beers. I like their Chorizo and Potato grilled cheese.

@joe2: Actually, air drag and gravity (when going uphill) are much greater "enemies" than rolling resistance. This might increase rolling resistance compared to a smooth racing tire, but the pump tube actually looks smooth so even with the collapsing of the tube it might offer less resistance than some treads.

Seems like this will work best for large, low pressure tires.

Why does a government website need to have a Facebook "Like Button" in the first place?

I hope that none of these German government agencies have Facebook pages either because that that would be essentially the same thing.

... or there's delicate equipment buried under the dirt? Or the driver/operator is off taking pee break and these guys aren't lazy? But, yes the original caption is funny because it makes fun of people in another country.

Yes, it's the defendant who's on trial and whose rights need to be protected so that he gets a fair trial, not those of the witness/victim, no matter how horrible her experience was. She was able to testify to the grand jury about here experience without a dog. Now the difference is that the defendant is in the courtroom. For all we know this could be a master stroke by the prosecutors. I'm surprised that the judge didn't better consider this before proceeding as it left the case wide open for appeals.

I'm confused. What is wrong with the current three color light? Are we really so pathetic that we need something like this? As others have said, this particular concept is terribly designed. There are places that use the yellow/amber light to indicate when the light is about to turn green again, but this generally bad in my opinion as drivers will tend to jump the gun and so the timing in the opposing direction has to compensate for this, which negates any efficiency. Far better to try to get rid of traffic lights where possible.
