Will L, the 30-06 and 308 use the same bullet diameter, there have been commercial boat-tail loads for the 30-06 for decades. Actually boat tail rounds are available in almost any caliber, even pistol rounds.

The 28 gauge is hardly "much larger", its diameter is .550 compared to the .410, the length is limited to 2 3/4 inch and the load is 3/4 oz., compared to the 410's 1/2 to 11/16ths oz.

I was sad when i saw this last week at HuffPo, now I'm dismayed at how much web wide coverage it is getting. Here is how this "works", the mason jar is just a means of vaporizing gasoline using exhaust heat.
