This isn't big news at all. Pandas are omnivorous. It's in every book you'll find on pandas. They're just not good hunters because they mostly consume bamboo, which is actually a pretty terrible food source for them.
Yeah they eat meat, I still think they're cute as hell though. Side note, they tend not to hunt their own prey, unless an animal is sick or dying next to them they are not likely to give chase, do to aforementioned reasons.

It's not about cute animals, it's about treating or exterminating animals humanely. And yes I would be up in arms about rats being beaten to death with shovels as well.

Is it wrong that the first thing I thought when seeing this is how incorrect it would be in regards to people turning around? It's considered extremely rude for the congregation to turn when a bride enters.

The majority of gay men I know didn't have mother's who painted their nails pink. I'm going to logic that not painting your son's nails pink will turn him gay faster than painting them pink, based on those numbers.
