I've always been bothered by the huge amounts of wasted space (smirk) in sci fi films. You realize of course that you have to heat and fill those huge corridors with AIR? Twenty foot ceilings...holodecks the size of warehouses...and don't get me started on the idiots who SMOKE in space...!
I remember getting a Jackson Five single in a similar format on the back of a cereal box. Must have been late sixties, early seventies, whenever the "Jackson Five" cartoon was on...
"Once the virus is fixed, the team will use a single photon to put the virus into a quantum superposition of two states, where it is either moving or not."
That's where this whole thing stopped making sense to me.
Can't we just reconfigure the deflector array, replace a skeleton with adamantium, and steer clear of the ion storm?
On a related note, I could swear I read a study once that claimed that dogs couldn't possibly see television, because the whole "persistence of vision" phosphor dot thing doesn't work for them. Yet most owners claim they can.
Did I make this up after an extended weekend of MadDog 20/20?
Please refer to the novel "Mutant 59: The Plastic Eaters" in which scientists create a bacteria to bio-degrade plastics. It works wonderfully on disposables until it mutates and starts to break down ALL plastics.
I'm surprised this isn't a movie yet, but tailoring biological components to alter the properties of matter scares the crap out of me...
Ever notice how "psychic powers" only predict disasters? It's never about how Fluffy the Lamb will save an eight year old from contracting anthrax... or how American politicians will all simultaneously commit suicide and donate their fortunes to cancer research...

Y'know...like that.

What a great way to start the long weekend...catchy and funny.
Thanks again.
So he just stood there and twiddled while they dug ALL that dirt from around his car? Nice pic, but the story's made up.
What was I thinking? How could they afford such insanely overpriced tech?
No one on the internet has EVER thought of taking childhood icons and making them "edgy" or more "adult".
What a great effort !
