Brainteaser: The Donkey and the Carrots

A donkey is tied to a rope 10 feet long. Twenty feet away is a field of carrots. How does the donkey get to the carrots?

It is these kinds of answers which make these less logic puzzles and more just-make-up-anything-that-makes-sense. I mean, you could just as easily say the donkey chewed through the rope. Or that he was a magic donkey who make the rope grow longer...

There's another answer as well. Here's a diagram:

Field ---10ft--- Post ---10ft --- Donkey

The donkey is at one end of the 10ft rope, the post is at the other. He is 20ft from the field, but he can simply walk to the edge of the field with no trouble.

The Donkey is tied to a ten ft rope.. That doesn't mean the other end of the rope is tied to something. Basically the Donkey can walk all the way down the road to the appletrees. Now how he gets an apple from such heights... THAT'S the real question

How clever! I hate clever. Actually, I came up with the same scenario as bluesfella, but then I was thinking that you actually don't tie a donkey to a rope. You tie a rope to a donkey. Donkeys are very stubborn and very difficult to tie into any shape, really. Talk about clever...
