Crazy Man Runs over Lava Flow
Volcano photographer Marc Szeglat assures us that this man running up a visibly flowing stream of lava at Mount Etna "was very experienced and knew what he was doing." How do you get experienced at this skill? What kind of learning curve is involved?

Well, I don't think you have to sink into lava to be in trouble with lava. If the lava flow is fast enough, you can get trapped in the flow while still floating in it (like a floating twig caught in a fast rapid, for example)

It's pretty impossible for a humanbeing to sink in lava. It's molten rock and while standing in one place most likely will submerge your feet, it's still very dense so one would have to stay in one place for several seconds.
