634 Corgis Converge for Corgi Beach Day

You can remain calm when encountering a solitary corgi. After all, it's harmless by itself, right? But what about when the second one appears? And a third? What would you do if you suddenly found yourself surrounded by no fewer than 634 corgis?

Visitors to Huntington Beach in southern California got to experience that terror at the recent Corgi Beach Day. Corgi owners brought their dogs to a huge meetup on the sand. You can see many more adorable/horrifying photos of them at Dogster.

If any of those were actual micronations, this would be much more interesting. As is, you might as well write an article about Crazy Fred down the street who declared himself king of the universe.

Take anything about Sealand with a grain of salt, funny no mention about the last commercial venture on Sealand and how it all went bad.

There was a micronation also in Finland. It was called Valtio ("The State" in english). It was 10x5 meters big and the number of citizens was two. It was started by finnish radio reporter Ari "paska" ("Shit" in english) Peltonen and it had a government including Alexander Stubb as the foreign policy minister, Katja Ståhl as the culture minister and Eva Wahlström as the defence minister. It was conquered back to Finland in 19 june 2007.

I´d recommend the BRN, Bunte Republik Neustadt in Dresden, Germany. Found 1990 after the fall of the wall to protest against the rising rents, destroying of the buildings and such some inhabitants of the district declared independence, named a king and invented their own flag and money. The political roots are almost forgotten, but every year at the 2nd weekend in June there is a big festival where the streets are shut down, people put out tables and chairs and bring food and drink. Up to 1000 artists play, this year there were 150,000 guests.
