Cat Eats Ambidextrously

(YouTube link)

YouTube member bikemystic gives us a play-by-play analysis while his cat Scoop eats her dinner. I’m not surprised that Scoop has idiosyncrasies about eating, because so many cats do. What’s amazing is the range and imagination of those habits. I have (or have had) cats that

* only will drink water by dipping and licking her paw.
* hides her toys in the food dish. A dish she has to share.
* cries for food only when one of the other cats is hungry.
* won’t eat inside, but will come inside to ask for food.
* likes to turn the water dish over, so we had to put a brick in it.
* has to transfer food to “her” dish before eating it.
* takes a mouthful, then goes into another room to chew it alone.
* eats raw potatoes, but has to chew off the peel and spit it out first.

In case you are wondering, Scoop was not named after her eating habits. She came with that name before the habit developed. It just worked out. -via Tastefully Offensive

We had a cat who loved Froot Loops. Every morning daughter #2 (who would only eat Froot Loops for breakfast) would leave a few loops floating. Leo would delicately pick them out, using only one claw. Another cat so loved cantaloupe that if I left one on the counter, he would eat through the rind. One was crazy about peas, and could smell them cooking through closed windows and doors. Another loved Chinese food. Still another loved pretzels. I could go on, but you get the idea.

#4. $1700 to rent a garage? How did two Stanford students afford $1700 a month? I purchased my house in 1997 and the whole mortgage is only about two thirds of that.

Oops - got myself confused. Thanks Clairmonde. I've fixed it now.

Re: I'm Feeling Lucky button - basically it takes you straight to the #1 position for whatever it is you're searching. So, like the article stated, it skipped Google's search result page.

True I never click Google ads but without it I doubt I would have found Neatorama. I don't feel lucky when I click that button. Sometimes it takes me three or four pages to find what I'm looking for.

I think the markets are ready to take another tumble. But the dollar will also fall is what I feel.

"Michigan University" should be "University of Michigan, Ann Arbor"

We wouldn't want anyone to confuse it with some school in East Lansing (for example - just a random one, of course).

Sun Microsystem co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim knew a good thing when he saw it.

So what's his hundred grand worth today?

That $110 million figure gets bandied around, but that is not a number from Google and instead comes from a simple assumption that those 1% of searchers would behave just as other Google users behave.

Most of the "I'm feeling lucky" traffic is likely people using Google to find a specific site instead of using the address bar (typing 'facebook' into Google for example).

It's highly probably that Google has run the numbers and it is nowhere near $110 million.
