This Psychedelic Art Is Actually A Birdsong Visualized

Andy Thomas is an artist who has a healthy appreciation for the beauty of bird songs, and a gift for creating technological innovations that help bring the beauty of the natural world alive in the digital realm.

He has created a way to visualize bird songs, which when visualized look like something you’d see while tripping on peyote, or after getting hit too hard in the head.

What you’re seeing is a product of a software that works much like previous visualizers WinAmp and that one nobody uses on iTunes, but this software is heavily influenced by Andy's own artistic vision, as you can see in this visualization of a crow's song:

If Andy ever invents some Oculus Rift style 3D visor capable of rendering these birdsong visualizations in real-time people are suddenly going to become mighty interested in birdwatching!
