You Won't Believe What This Pooch Swallowed

When your pooch starts acting weird and not eating or drinking, you know you need to take him to the vet. What you might not know is that he ate something weird when you weren't home.

In Petey's case, that something weird was seriously weird. In fact, it's hard to believe it fit in the five month old dog's body at all. That's because Petey ate a toilet bowl scrubber -a whole 15" toilet bowl scrubber.

After a quick surgery, vets were able to remove the brush and Petey is now recovering just fine. “It was the one of the most remarkable things I have ever seen in veterinary medicine and the strangest surgery I have ever performed,” said veterinarian Dr. Yvonne Kline.

Thanks for your comments guys, I only used the headline because I never actually wrote an Upworthy headline before and I wanted to try it out. I don't want Neatorama to be filled with these either.

That being said, I do believe there are times to use them and this was one of them. I sincerely could not believe that a 5 month old dog that size could eat a full-size scrubber in one piece.

When I was a kid, my second-oldest sister's boyfriend had a bull terrier like this one. It would eat anything. He gave it a tire once - as a chew toy - and the dog ate most of it. Not the steel belts, but damn near everything else.

Seconded, I am also disappointed with the use of an "Upworthy-style" headline. I used to visit various aggregate websites containing interesting pictures/links, but recently decided to ditch the ones that use "Upworthy-style" headlines, leaving just two sites: Neatorama and Bored Panda. If Neatorama continues down this slippery path, then Bored Panda will be the only site I visit for interesting things found on the web.

But to Neatorama's credit, at least I didn't have to click anything to find out what this pooch swallowed.
