Why Do People Hate Cats?
I’m a dog person. I don’t hate cats. I just prefer dogs. Except for my dog, who is turning into a veterinary money pit lately. So let’s say that I like hypothetical dogs that don’t constantly need surgery. Those exist, right?
Scott Meyer of Basic Instructions is, I take it, a cat person. Why do certain people hate cats? They’re insecure about their own value relative to domesticated animals.
Well there is also the allergy issue. And the fact that a cat's affectionate body language generally leads to tripping his owners repeatedly.

We'll probably never own another cat after our current one dies. I love his fat self, but after he started pooping and peeing in random spots around the house after I got pregnant.... yeah... we're not going to risk getting another that could end up just as bad or worse.
