Chiropractic for Elephants

That's one BIG spine to adjust! If you think that chiropractic is just for humans, you haven't met chiropractic veterinarians:

Thirty years ago, Dr. Gene Giggleman was a veterinarian who thought chiropractors were quacks. Since then, he says he's straightened out thousands of dogs and cats, not to mention the occasional snake, hamster, gerbil and guinea pig.

"And I know people who have adjusted pigs, goats and rodeo bulls," said Giggleman, a professor at Parker University in Dallas, which specializes in chiropractic care.

In Southern California, Dr. Rod Block has tended to an elephant, a paralyzed iguana, a turkey, pigs, llamas and countless dogs and horses.

massages I can understand, I could even see how a chiropractor could help some joint pain. What I don't get is how a "vertebral subluxtation" can cause a cough, cancer, or any other illness.

on the issue of fake medicine homeopathic medicine makes even less sense,
STEPS:
1-take an ingredient that causes the same symptoms as the ailment
2-then dilute it with water down to 1 part medicine to 1 trillion parts water
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE
3-shake it real hard

I know people who swears by chiropractic - they said they feel a lot better after being "adjusted." I haven't done it myself, but I've had deep tissue muscle massage and I did feel better after getting that, so I assume it's kind of similar.

hm this is very interesting, I didn't know the placebo effect worked on animals.

I can just picture him trying to "straighten" a snakes spine.
