Package Deal: Mayonnaise + Toilet Paper

Redditor ZyloV spotted this great offer in Mexico. I can't tell you how often I've gone into a supermarket to purchase both mayonnaise and toilet paper and, for that matter, only mayonnaise and toilet paper. They naturally belong together. Some smart retailer finally figured out how to capitalize on this basic human need.

In his famous book THE HIDDEN PERSUADERS, Vance Packard wrote about people's non-rational decision making (and how American business was endeavoring to overcome, or at least manipulate it).
An example he gave was when a soup company offered purchasers a free pair of women's stockings with each box. There was a slip in the box to redeem for them, but it was not successful. Psychological depth testing found that people were subconsciously imagining having feet in their soup.

A grocer in central NY had an ad campaign that featured paired products. For example, corn on the cob and toothpicks. Once it was prune juice and toilet paper. Never saw another ad like that again.
