Some people see a bunch of eye pleasing shapes and colors when they look at a flag, others see symbols that represent a country, but comedian Jack Douglass sees a problem.
Jack has taken it upon himself to fix all those totally wrong flags being used by countries around the world, and his efforts may lead to world peace in our time.
If you're a fan of all the fantastic sci-fi and other genre movies that came out in the 1980s then you will really enjoy the new Netflix series Stranger Things.
Here's the official blurb, so as not to spoil the series for you:
This thrilling Netflix-original drama stars award-winning actress Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, who lives in a small Indiana town in 1983 -- inspired by a time when tales of science fiction captivated audiences. When Joyce's 12-year-old son, Will, goes missing, she launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl.
If you haven't seen the show yet you may not want to watch this supercut of references to movies from the 70s and 80s found in Stranger Things because it contains spoilers.
But make sure you come back after you've watched the show!
French journalist Ulysse Thevenon edited this side-by-side comparison supercut together for our edification, and even though the references were obvious it only added to the overall vibe of the show in my opinion.
Poor little Magikarp- he's the biggest loser in the world of Pokémon, and even though he can evolve into the spectacular and powerful Gyarados his base form does nothing but flop around pathetically.
But everyone loves an underdog, so Pokémon fans naturally feel sorry for Magikarp and want to brighten his day by making him feel appreciated, even if they don't really want him stinking up their Pokéball.
Maybe he'll feel better about himself if we sing him a little song?
People often design and build houses to look like no other structure on Earth thinking this will make it an oddity and therefore more valuable.
But a unique look can actually lower the value of a building, making it virtually impossible to sell because it only appeals to a niche market.
Case in point- this cartoon lover's casa in the Hillsborough, California known as "The Flinstone House", which has been on the market for years but is apparently too quirky to sell.
The Flintstone House was built in 1976 and renovated in the 80s after the building suffered weather damage, and even though it's now artsy and upscale in a modern Stone Age kind of way the price is dropping by the day.
Something about the house has made it sit on the market without interest for years, and the price has dropped $1 million in the last year despite the house being seen as a Bay Area landmark.
Whatever it is, it can't be this amazing bathroom setup, look at that crazy caveman style shower!
When you stroll around the dealer's room at San Diego Comic-Con you get to see lots of friendly faces trying to sell you their independently created comic books.
The artists are generally quite nice but their comics rarely thrill me, because they just sound like the same old superheroic premise presented with lackluster art.
But this year Kevin Bieber and Victor De Troy introduced me to their fun and funky new comic drawn by Jared Lamp called Man Vs. Rock.
The premise is brilliantly ridiculous- rocks have been treated like crap by humans for thousands of years- we've peed on them, spit on them, crucified them and used them as slaves while building the pyramids.
So naturally rocks are fed up with the way humanity treats them so they decided to revolt, bringing about the Rock-pocalypse, and the only man who can defeat them is crazed geologist Buck Stone.
The series is satirical, abstract and totally over-the-top in terms of humor, with jokes galore on each and every page, and yet the premise is compelling enough to make you want to read on.
I mean, who wouldn't want to find out how to stop the Rock-pocalypse from happening, right?
Geeky people with tattoos tend to have geeky tattoos, so it's no wonder that you can find some amazing geek tattoos at the San Diego Comic Con. Here are a few of the best and coolest tattoos we spotted at the convention.
The Sexiest Witch King In Town
Even the most dedicated Lord of the Rings fan has probably never seen the Witch-King of Angmar like this. You know what they say -if you've got it, flaunt it.
Don't Mess With These Ladies
Some girls like princesses that follow all the rules, like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, but others like girls who defy authority.
That's why she had the princesses Daenerys, Merida and Mulan tattooed on her sleeve.
Of course, strong female role models don't end with princesses. These Gotham City femme fatales also belonged to the same woman, Ms. Melissa Romero. All of her work was completed by Steve Rieck, a Las Vegas artist who has a particular interest in doing geeky tattoos.
Batman fans are looking forward to the movie Suicide Squad not least because of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s sexy sidekick who became a fan favorite, played by Margot Robbie. The wait will be over this coming weekend, and to get ready for the movie, you might want to brush up on Harley Quinn history and some trivia about the Harley Quinn. She was born on TV, and became a comic book character later on.
Originally intended to be nothing beyond a walk-on, Harley (in her typical stubborn fashion) defied expectations. Resonating with viewers and writers alike, Harley earned her own origin story in the now classic Mad Love comic (which was later adapted into an episode of the New Batman Adventures in 1999) and has since become a fan favorite, going on to appear as a side character in a multitude of animated series, features and comics, (e.g. Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Batman: Assault on Arkham, Injustice: Gods Among Us) and been given her own solo runs with heavyweight contributors the likes of Terry Dodson, Karl Kesel and Amanda Conner. Harley just won’t quit.
The music of Pink Floyd has changed so many lives since they made their debut with the seminal psych rock album The Piper at the Gates Of Dawn back in 1967.
So when the movie adaptation of The Wall came out in 1982 it naturally touched audiences deeply as well, and Bob Geldof's performance as Pink left us all ready and willing to tear down our walls so we don't self-destruct.
But as you can see from these behind-the-scenes photos from The Wall there was a kind of schizophrenic feeling to the production, as if they were making different films with vastly different voices.
And yet after watching the film you can see how this filmmaking madness came together as a work of pure genius, and all the production wars were fought for the sake of Pink Floyd fans the world over.
Most of us outgrow our fear of monsters by the time we're old enough to buy booze, but monsters have the ability to reinvent themselves and scare us when we feel we're beyond being scared of "kid's stuff".
These terrifying reinventions are created by hard working monster lovers like Arizona based artist Josh Leichliter, who spend their time creating creatures guaranteed to keep us up at night.
Josh's amazing monsters sculptures are head and fangs above the rest in terms of realism, and if their terrifying features don't make you break out in a cold sweat those eyes that seem to stare straight into your soul certainly will.
Eric Cartman is by far the most controversial character on South Park, and over the years that Cheesy Poof lovin' sociopath has committed virtually every crime in the book.
So to continue his legacy of liberally spreading sin around Imgur user xiucutil decided to take the wise words of Eric Cartman and wrongly attribute them to various famous folks.
The quotes are more honest than these well known people have ever been in their entire life, and so spot on you'll start to wonder whether Cartman is actually channeling these celebs when he speaks.
They also show us how much certain famous folks have in common with Eric Cartman, proving great minds tend to think alike.
From what American audiences have seen of the Pokémon franchise it hardly seems like it needs to be censored, but some major changes are made before anything Pokémon hits stores in the U.S.
Let's start with Jynx- in Japan this Pokémon is clearly drawn as a blackface caricature, and although Japanese audiences have never taken offense to the character they knew audiences in the U.S. would.
So what did they do to fix the problem?
They painted her purple, so now she looks like the Eggplant Wizard's wife instead of a minstrel show reject.
Pokémon cards have undergone a similar cleanup process to be sold in America, which meant removing anything which could be seen as controversial or inappropriate for kids.
So swastikas were removed from the Koga's Ninja Trick card, Misty's trainer card nudity was replaced with tears, and Grimer's pervy pupils were reoriented so he's no longer looking up some girl's skirt.
We're been making a whole lot of products "smart" over the last year or two and while it might seem to make your life easier to have everything hooked up to the internet and connected via Bluetooth, it's only a matter of time before the machine revolution begins. Don't believe me? Just look at all the simple and evil ways your mad machines can start killing you -even your Bluetooth tampons and smart water cups.
Parents have a responsibility to teach their kids it's not okay to chew on the gum stuck under tables, the dog doo on the sidewalk or that dead bird they found on the playground.
Plus they've gotta let the kids know all about that stranger danger.
But it's hard to stop putting weird stuff in your mouth when you're a kid, which is why kids who grew up in Canada in the 90s needed two furry blue puppets to tell them Don't Put It In Your Mouth.
This bizarre puppet PSA created in 1993 by the Concerned Children's Advertisers group in Canada really puts the concept of stranger danger in perspective, as in stay away from strange puppets!
Australian radiologist Mark Udovitch knows his patients are in for the fight of their life as they battle to overcome cancer, and he also knows how costly that battle can be.
Which is why Mark started the Dry July fundraising campaign, so he could financially assist adults living with cancer in Sydney and raise cancer awareness at the same time.
Mark knew he needed a good gimmick to help him raise more funds, so he started recreating famous photos and posting them on his fundraising Facebook page.
Mark, and a few other members of his staff, are also planning to cut off their lovely locks as part of the Dry July Shave Off, a decision Mark made because one of his patients was so sad about losing her hair.
He hoped the photos taken by his girlfriend would not only help raise money but also serve as a funny way to approach a serious subject, so people would share them on social media and spread the word.
Considering his story went viral and tons of people, including a few celebs, have been sharing the story I'd say his plan worked!
It's hard to believe South Park is about to begin their twentieth season but it's true, and two decades on the air has definitely softened Trey Parker and Matt Stone up a bit...just kidding!
South Park Studios is just as hardcore as ever (see the video game The Stick Of Truth), but they're celebrating the show turning twenty with a sweet and sentimental look back at all the dirty places they've been. (NSFW)
The 20th season of South Park will premiere on Comedy Central on September 14, 2016, and the show is set to run until at least 2019, so keep growing older and South Park will grey right along with you!
