Hilarious Captain America: Civil War Gag Reel

The actors who play superheroes in the Marvel movies are not superheroic in any way- they're average humans with the very human ability to fail hard.

And even though we see perfection when we watch their on screen performances there's a bunch of bungling, fumbling, cursing, cracking up and bloopering that happens during takes that wound up on the cutting room floor.

Marvel Entertainment released this hilarious gag reel to promote the digital HD DVD and Blu-Ray release of Captain America: Civil War, just in time to get us in that Marvel movie mood again before Doctor Strange comes out on November 4th.

Fan Theory: All Adam Sandler Movies Are Connected

Fan theories about pop culture franchises are like adding candy to movie theater popcorn- fun and easy to digest in small quantities, gobble up too much and you may end up feeling sick.

But when a fan puts as much work into their theory as Shawn Kohne has put into his Adam Sandler-based “Sandlerverse” theory you've gotta bite and take a look.

Shawn's “Sandlerverse” theory ties together every project Sandler has ever worked on, including the stuff he did for Saturday Night Live and his musical albums, and as bats#$t crazy as that sounds Shawn makes it work.

In case you're on the fence about watching this eight minute long video here's a taste:

In Happy Gilmore (1996), Chubbs (portrayed by Carl Weathers) falls through a window, presumably to his death. But four years later in Little Nicky, Chubbs reappears in heaven. What does Reese Witherspoon have to say about Chubbs? She tells Nicky that he used to be a golf pro (Chubbs’ job in Happy Gilmore) but now he’s known in heaven for being the dopest dancer. Likewise, sportscaster Dan Patrick seems to play the same cop in The Longest Yard (2005) and in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007).

Why It's Important To Pay Attention When The Apocalypse Begins

Ever have one of those days where you're too caught up in your daily routine to notice the world is falling apart all around you?

Then you'll probably find this short horror film Lasiurus by Marcus Alqueres to be disturbingly relatable, and keeping your phone charged will probably become a top priority.

Shopping at the grocery store at 3 a.m. feels a bit post-apocalyptic, but in a good way!

Fifteen Things You May Not Know About Batman's Butler Alfred Pennyworth

(Image Link)

Alfred Pennyworth is the most underrated character in the Batman universe, because there would be no Dark Knight, and no billionaire Bruce Wayne as we know him, without Alfred's guidance.

Alfred has proven time and again he's no ordinary valet/butler- he's a tactician, a hacker, a makeup artist, an actor, a medic and Bruce's counselor/father figure.

(Image Link)

The Alfred character started out as Alfred Beagle, a bumbling detective with a portly character design clearly inspired by Oliver Hardy.

(Image Link)

But the creators liked the way William Austin looked as Alfred in the 1943 Batman film serial so much they decided to change his look and his name, and Beagle became Pennyworth.

There are other inconsistencies in Alfred's backstory, but a few things remain constant- he received British Army training, he doesn't have a problem using firearms, and he enjoys breeding roses.

The Fidget Cube Is A Fun Way To Keep Your Hands Busy

Sitting at a desk for hours at a time can lead to fidgeting, and some people swear they think more clearly when their hands are kept busy.

Until recently that meant fidgeting with office supplies and stress balls, or some expensive piece of desk jewelry that looks really cool but doesn't satisfy that fidgety feeling.

But now there's the Fidget Cube by Antsy Labs- a fun little vinyl desk toy featuring an assortment of ways to stay fidgety on its six faces.

The Fidget Cube looks like hours of fun for your fingers, and the creators stand by its power to clear the mind and promote creativity, so it's not just a toy- it's an investment in your desk-bound career.

An Honest Trailer for Captain America: Civil War

The Marvel movie Captain America: Civil War is available on Blue-Ray as of today. Perfect time for an Honest Trailer from Screen Junkies. This is the movie where a bunch of new Marvel superheroes are introduced because the Avengers are split into teams to fight each other, right?

(YouTube link)

From this video, I also learned that it has an incomprehensible plot that no one cared about because they wanted to see superheroes fight. And it has a lot in common with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Heads up- the Honest Trailer is quite a bit shorter than the video. -Thanks, Paul Panday!

If Other Video Games Had An App Like Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO has been slowly but surely turning smartphone gamers into zombified "trainers", who wander around the world with their eyes glued to the GO screen searching for Pokémon hot spots.

Thankfully, Pokémon GO is a pretty harmless game, but imagine if games like The Legend Of Zelda, Mario Party, Super Smash Bros and Fallout had similar apps. The world would be doomed!

If Pokémon GO players aren't careful they're liable to find themselves joining roving gamer gangs, teaming up to hunt down and catch all the Pokémon no matter where they hide.

Of course, trainers turning against each other in the quest to catch 'em all seems like a more realistic scenario...

Comic artist extraordinaire JHALL has illustrated six alternate GO app scenarios to satisfy our curiosity, demonstrating how good Pokémon GO actually is and how bad other GO style apps could be!

D.C. Will Hide Banned Books Around the City

September is banned books month and in celebration of all the great banned books that later were recognized as classics, the Washington D.C. library set up quite a clever scavenger hunt. Hidden in businesses around the city are copies of once-banned books -find one and it's yours. It's not just a matter of finding a free book of course, the program is a great way to look back on the history of censored books and each title will be wrapped in a cover that explains why the book was challenged. Clues to finding the secret treasures can be found on the library's Twitter account.

No Playing Star Wars

Getting kids to stop playing Star Wars after watching the movies is like getting them to stop making messes or breaking stuff, in other words impossible.

And when they see those cute little critters pretending to fly the Millennium Falcon around the house or having a lightsaber battle in the living room their parents can't help but play along.

This Lunar Baboon comic is dedicated to those grown-ups who refuse to stop acting like kids- even after they've had children!

The Time Alice Cooper Appeared On Gene Wilder's Sitcom

Alice Cooper and Gene Wilder don't seem like they have much in common aside from the fact that they both became superstars in the 70s.

But back in the mid-90s this unlikely duo appeared together in Wilder's sitcom Something Wilder, with Cooper playing himself and moving in next door to Wilder's character Gene Bergman.

(YouTube Link)

Episode 14 entitled “Hangin' With Mr. Cooper”, was the second to last episode of Something Wilder to air on NBC, at a point when the producers were trying to save the show by introducing zanier storylines.

(YouTube Link)

I can't help but wonder if the show would have been cancelled so quickly if they'd cast Alice as the neighbor from the beginning, because Wilder and Cooper have surprisingly good comedic chemistry.

Courage The Cowardly Dog Encounters Pokémon

Courage the cowardly dog faced many strange creatures and beings during his four seasons on the air, but if he had encountered any Pokémon he probably would have quit the show.

That's because the series never seems to run out of strange animal and insect type Pokémon, and on top of the hundreds of different species there are hundreds more evolved species which are even scarier.

And unlike an episode of his pal Scooby Doo's show you can't pull a rubber mask off a Pokémon and discover it's actually Old Man Jenkins in disguise.

According to this adorable mashup series by @diasapacibles Courage could become friends with less evolved Pokémon species because they're less aggressive, but he should still be wary of sneaky pranksters like Jigglypuff.

Pac-Man And The Ms. Have Intimacy Issues

Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man were made for each other, with the same pie chart-shaped heads, matching appetites and a nasty power pellet habit they can't seem to shake.

But, as this comic from Blow The Cartridge Comics shows, when it comes to intimacy Pac and the Ms. can't seem to figure out how to get to the next level.

These Pinball Machines Really Rock

Pinball may have lacked a soundtrack back in the 40s and 50s, but by the 70s and 80s pinball machines were imbued with the power of rock 'n' roll, catering to the player's preferred genre of music.

Groups like KISS, the Rolling Stones, AC/DC and Metallica have all lent their likenesses, and their music, to pinball machines so their rocker fans can worship the rock gods while hanging at the arcade.

Some of those rock gods have been featured on multiple pinball machines virtually spanning their career, although the later games are often so bad they make a grown man cry.

But the fact that rock bands actually have their own machines, which actually play their music, seems pretty cool to an arcade lovin' 80s kid like me.

And many of those rock 'n' roll machines let the whole arcade know how cool you are every time you got a multiball by blasting a blistering track as a reward for being a prime pinballer.

See Pinball machines featuring The Stones, Elton John, The Who, AC/DC, KISS and many more here

When word spread that a movie would be made about the day Captain Sully Sullenberger saved a plane full of people by making a miraculous emergency landing on the Hudson people were like “What?”

Even Sully himself wondered why they would make such a movie, but then he heard Tom Hanks hired on to play the role so he stopped objecting and got on board with the project, stating "If Tom's in then whatevs".

And now that Sully is out in theaters Captain Sullenberger finally got to play the role of a lifetime on Jimmy Kimmel Live!- Tom Hanks.

And the viewers muttered "WTF?!", wondering what they'd just watched...
