This Adorable Japanese Mascot Drums Like A Heavy Metal God

Metal bands are made up of more than just darkly clad characters these days, and with bands like Mac Sabbath, GWAR and Green Jelly out there it's becoming hard for an ordinary human to stand out.

But the Japanese apple mascot character in this video is such a badass drummer he doesn't need a band!

(YouTube Link)

His name is Nyango Star, and he's an apple-cat thing from Kuroishi city in Aomori prefecture who really knows his way around a drum set. Here he is absolutely killing it while playing the Slipknot track "Before I Forget":

(YouTube Link)

Nyango Star recently came to the world's attention when this video of him playing Anpanman's March was shared by Twitter user @ak1225_062708 :

Now every metal band in the world is trying to get Nyango Star to audition, but he's so metal he thinks joining bands is for posers!

What Minority Report Computers Would Really Be Like

Futuristic movies and TV shows like Minority Report show characters using cool floating computer screens they access by waving their hands in the air while they have a super serious look on their face.

Even cooler- when the floating computer screen is voice activated, and capable of displaying those really awesome looking 3D maps they spin in the air when they're making plans.

But, like most tech that looks really cool on film, the reality would be an annoyingly unmanageable device that makes you look stupid while you use it and makes everyone nearby hate you! (NSFW language)

A Different Kind Of Spider Man

The words "spider" and "man" are so common they must come together quite often in the world of costumed crime fighting, and Peter Parker can't be the first hero to see how cool those two words sound together.

But, as this comic by Invisible Cat Stories shows, the criminals and villains who face Peter's version are actually getting off easy! Death by thousands of spiders...*shiver*

A 1933 Version of New Order's "Blue Monday"

(Video Link)

In celebration of Blue Monday's fifty year anniversary last year, Orkestra Obsolete did a cover of the song using only instruments that were available fifty years before it was released -in 1933. Instruments used include a glass harp, a pump organ, a dulcimer, a zither and a musical saw. The result is surprisingly accurate and entirely unique at the same time.

Triple Yoda Battle

DIY Prophacks found animatronic Yodas with lightsabers at 90% off regular price, and bought them all. There were four, but only three responded to his voice as they were supposed to. The fourth was a "doofus Yoda." So he set them up to battle each other!

(YouTube link)

Yep, right there is $80 worth of fun. I think the cat enjoyed it, too. He may recoup some of that as the video is doing well, and he's going to make more videos with them, even doofus, if he gets it to work. -via reddit

Update: today he posted "The follow up video everyone was asking for…"

The Secret Hell Behind Those PillsDairy Batterboy Commercials

The Pillsbury Doughboy's heart must be made of stone because he has been watching people shove dough in ovens for over fifty years and still manages to teehee about it all.

And, as this parody PillsDairy Batterboy commercial shows, that's one aspect of Poppin' Fresh's life we never stop to consider- the fact that he's helping Pillsbury sell his own doughpeople to hungry humans.

How Rogue One Should Have Ended

First off: if you have been putting off seeing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, this post contains spoilers. Then again, if you've put it off this long, you probably don't care about spoilers. If you've seen the film, you probably have an opinion on how it ended. So do the folks at HISHE. They've also changed some of the beginning and middle, too.

(YouTube link)

Along the way, they have a bit -or a lot- of criticism picking at everything about Rogue One. That's okay, I think the movie is just fine at is. -via Uproxx

La La Land As Directed By David Lynch

La La Land won all kinds of awards at the Oscars this year, which isn't surprising considering it glamorizes Hollywood and stars Ryan Gosling. But there's one director who was not in attendance this year, a genius filmmaker who has been nominated three times but has never won an Academy Award- David Lynch.

He's got the vision, the stories and the memorable cast of characters, and if David Lynch would have directed La La Land it would've had a totally different vibe.

This moody mashup is part of CineFix's Trailer Mix series, if you like this one you should check out Tommy Boy recut as a drama and Shawshank Redemption as an upbead romance movie.

What Happens To Cap'n Crunch When He Dies?

Cap'n Crunch used to boast about how he had "corn for crunch and oats for punch" and that he "stays crunchy, even in milk", his secret defense against those cereal killing Soggies.

But the Cap'n never spoke about issues pertaining to his mortality, and he never told a soul that he'd never learned to swim.

So if you were curious about what happens to the Cap'n when he dies you can thank cartoonist extraordinaire John Kovalic for this colorful explanation packed with seven essential vitamins and minerals!

A Small List of the Crimes Committed By The Gang in "It's Always Sunny"

(Image via Dana Robinson [Flickr])

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is delightful to watch particularly because it's fun to see Charlie, Mac, Dee, Dennis and Frank do horrible things and continue to never grow from their experiences. Any fan of the show knows that while Charlie may know some bird law, the Gang as a whole seems to be completely unaware that they are constantly committing crimes -many of which are serious felonies.

That's why this list of many (though hardly all) of the crimes on It's Always Sunny is so damn entertaining. It even includes the potential sentences for each of the crimes and unsurprisingly, if the Gang was convicted, they'd be spending a whole lot of time behind bars.

You can see the whole (very long) list here.

The Original Jaws Ride We Never Got To Experience

Everyone who has ridden on the Universal Studios Hollywood Studio Tour has wondered one thing- why isn't there a Jaws ride at the Hollywood theme park?

Well, it may have something to do with the fact that Universal Studios Florida introduced a Jaws ride in 1990 that is now considered the most expensive theme park failure of all time.

(YouTube Link)

Yesterworld Entertainment put together this fun video which was inspired by this Theme Park Tourist article about the ill-fated first edition Jaws ride that Universal Studios remade into a legendary attraction.

Why You Shouldn't Let Your Cat Watch Star Wars

You always thought your cat was just begging for love in a pesky, annoying way when he circles around your feet. As this Oatmeal comic proves though, he actually watched Star Wars and believes he finally found a way to take down his oppressors.

Marvel Comics Versus Marvel Movies

Thanks to various licensing issues the Marvel Universe as a whole has been unable to come together on the big screen, which is sad.

It's also sad how many comics you have to buy each month to keep up with the Marvel Universe, and that Spidey has yet to get the perfect movie adaptation he deserves.

Dorkly's George Rottkamp took a stab at defining some of the major differences between Marvel comics and the movies in this strip, proving the difference almost always involves money.
