Watching a visual effects breakdown is kinda like watching a beloved film being deconstructed right before your eyes, with all the magic stripped away in favor of clinical examination of process and point-by-point examples of what was done to the original footage to create the desired effect.
VFX supervisor Martin Madsen presents us with an enlightening, and totally bloodsoaked, analysis of the visual effects used in Nicolas Winding Refn's film Only God Forgives, and if your stomach can stand the ultraviolence you'll discover an interesting display of how much work goes into a modern movie, and the detail oriented nature of the viz fx industry.
