Renaissance Faire

If you love Shakespeare and don't mind your husband talking to a few lusty wenches now and again you might want to consider a trip the Renaissance Faire.  There are typically plenty of games, live shows, food booths, and fun things for the kids to do there.

We recently attended the Original Renaissance Faire in Irwindale, California.  The kids loved the dragon puppets, the giant swing, and fruit ice.  They couldn't get enough of the fruit ice.  Who doesn't love fruit sorbet shoved into a carved out lemon, orange, or peach. Yummy. It's one of my favorites too.  My only advice is to make sure you bring lots of wipes with you.

There are tons of Renaissance type fairs out there and they run at all different times of the year. Some, of course, are more historically accurate then others.
