Scary Cool Animated Short - Mutant Land

(YouTube Link)

CGI animated shorts don't come much better than this terrifying tale of a post-apocalyptic mutant world gone mad, appropriately titled Mutant Land.

Mutant Land is very well done, from the models to the texturing to the fluidity of the character animation, and these pluses more than make up for what it's lacking in the plot department.

Watch Out For Halloween Kids!

(YouTube Link)

From the beginning, Halloween has been villified by religious fanatics and would-be political activists claiming that dressing up and trick-or-treating brings out the worst in people.

Those of us who have yet to lose our minds know that the holiday isn't to blame, and that often these anti-Halloween activists are far worse than anyone or anything related to the holiday.

Enjoy this absurd propaganda film resurrected from a VHS graveyard somewhere and see how far these haters of fun will go to warp young minds!

Ten Utterly Terrifying Books For Halloweenies

Halloweenies tend to have peculiar taste in media. They like their movies scary/bloody, their music dark/moody/heavy and their literature bleak/disturbing. Average books won't do, they need to be truly terrifying, the kind of books that you can't put down even though they're damaging your psyche.

Flavorwire has put together a list of ten books that live up to those notoriously high Halloweenie standards, perfect for making you feel awkward in your own skin and reminding you why you always dress in all black.

Serbian Vampire on the Loose

The well-known Serbian vampire Sava Savanović lived in a water mill near the village of Zarožje. The Jagodic family bought the mill and turned it into a tourist attraction. However, they neglected to keep the mill in good repair, because they were afraid of disturbing the vampire. Recently, the structure collapsed and fears that Savanović is looking for a new home have locals terrified. The local council advised citizens to guard against vampire attack.

Local mayor Miodrag Vujetic admitted: "People are worried, everybody knows the legend of this vampire and the thought that he is now homeless and looking for somewhere else and possibly other victims is terrifying people. We are all frightened."

He added that it was all very well for people who didn't live in the area to laugh at their fears but he said nobody in the region was in any doubt that vampires do exist.

He confirmed that the local council had advised all villagers to put garlic on their doors and windows to protect them from the vampire as it was well known they can't stand the smell.

He added: "We have also reminded them to put a Holy cross in every room in the house."

Garlic has been selling like hotcakes in Zarožje. Link -via Arbroath
