Fun Cosplays from the 2024 SDCC

The last week of July, cosplayers around the globe gathered in Southern California to show off their newest looks at the 2024 San Diego Comic Con. Zeon Santos and I were lucky enough to capture the fun. Here are some of our favorite cosplay pics from the convention.

It was hot at the convention this year, so I'm sure Nick Wilde had no problem selling off Pawpsicles whether or not he had the proper permits.

And speaking of foxes, if Nick was looking for a girlfriend, he could do worse than this Foxy Tails or her friend Sonic.

If you like sexy costumes inspired by video games though, it's hard to beat this near-naked Pikachu.

Personally, I couldn't get over the intensity of this badass Storm, complete with the white eyes she gets while using her powers.

When it came to comic book characters though, this The Batman Who Laughs may have been my favorite cosplay of the weekend.

This Firecracker cosplayer was easily one of the most dead-on costumes I saw all weeknd —I half expected her to start trashtalking Starlight or vaccines, or both!

I don't think Captain America would support Firecracker much, but then, she probably would accuse him of being a communist.

I'm going to go ahead and call this mashup Iron America and declare it the coolest superhero mashup cosplay of the weekend.

However, when it comes to my favorite mashup of the weekend, it was a toss up between two Mario character mashups. I'm impressed by the level of detail in this Princess Luigi cosplay,

But I also love the creativity and pure fun of this great Princess Peach Jedi costume.

Speaking of fun Mario cosplays, it was hard to beat the energy of these two —who even gave me a gold coin after I snapped their picture.

As for gender swapped cosplays, I was in love with this adorable Beetlejuice.

These creepy ghouls were quite the fancy-dressed crew.

As were these precious Star Wars ballerinas.

It was hard not to love this Mad Moxxi —especially because there were just so many Borderlands cosplays look so similar to one another.

Similarly, while there were probably 100 Vault Dwellers at the con, it was incredible to see this Ghoul by Cosplaymom99.

I was more spooked by these clickers than I was by just about anyone else at the con.

Though these Silent Hill nurses were a close second -especially because I first saw them in a creepy parking garage long before I got close enough to get this pic.

But this guy was not clowning around.

I was not left with a Hollow feeling after seeing this wonderful Knight cosplay.

This little cutie was the perfect Zero.

I was blown away with the level of detail this mermaid put into her beautiful beaded tail.

Mothra was unlike I've ever seen her before -absolutely adorable.

As was this baby dinosaur with his trainer.

Too bad those baby dinos eventually grow into these bad boys.

Luckily this dinosaur dream team was in town.

Speaking of dream teams, check out this cute family of Peaches.

And this father and son could have raided any lost ark or temple.

Did I mention I felt completely Inside Out when I saw this great group?

Then again, it was hard not to be overwhelmed with the adorable positivity of these ponies.
