It will surely cost you a fortune, however, as the current high bid is $300,000, not to mention the buyer’s premium of $60,000. But why is it so expensive?

Because its insanely rare, and was cancelled very early on - that's pretty much all u need to know. I remember seeing mockups in videogame magazines and everyone was super excited. Then suddenly it just vanished from magazines. Definitely an interesting piece of gaming history. The "What Could've Been" of video game consoles.
