Most of us may agree that the Internet helps us make our daily lives easier. Helping us escape a traffic jam, for instance. However, the Internet is not perfect. It may give wrong advice just like what happened in Denver.
Last Sunday on Peña Boulevard, a road leading to Denver International Airport, there was a car crash. Drivers were prompted by the app, Google Maps, to take a detour to escape the traffic and save time.
But it was too good to be true.
The alternate route took drivers down a dirt road that rain had turned into a muddy mess, and cars started sliding around.
Some vehicles couldn't make it through the mud, and about 100 others became trapped behind them.
The article reminded us that we should not blindly follow what the Internet says. Instead, we must be critical and make our own judgement.

Google says turn on to muddy path but my vehicle isn't designed to handle those conditions. Oh well, sounds like a great idea!

I have had to tell my previous roommate several times to ignore Google Maps. Around here, it will put you on a toll road or city surface streets to shave a single minute off your route. Occasionally it even treats parking lots as if they were roads. :P
