Moonbow Announces The Coming of Spring This Year

Captured on a late Wednesday night above Alston by Andrew Hewison (who posts as Kimspics), the BBC Weather Watcher, the rare lunar rainbow majestically appears and hovers above Alston, Cumbria. Amaze-BOWS!

From BBC:

BBC weather presenter Simon King described it as a "rare and amazing colourful moonbow".
He said normally moonbows are much fainter and seen as white but the extra brightness of Wednesday's moon meant colours could be seen.

As he took his dog for a walk, Hewison stated that he spotted this amazing and rare phenomenon just after 10 PM, GMT.

We have a moonbow about once a month down the road here at Cumberland Falls State Park. The mist from the falls creates a spectrum any time the light is good, which is during the full moon- if it's not cloudy.
