Necco’s SweetHearts Candy Hearts Harder to Find This Valentine’s Day

The familiar Valentine’s candy will not be available for sale this Valentine's day, and it’s safe to say that people are a little more than disappointed! Necco’s iconic hearts have flooded stores every February since 1886.

Despite vowing to keep some of Necco’s favourites going, Spangler announced Thursday (Jan. 24) that they would not be able to meet the demand this year as it reportedly takes around 11 months to produce enough of the loved chalky candies.

However, fear not! The company promises to produce enough candy hearts for all our needs before this time next year. Read more about it here.

Neccos are indestructible and last forever (just like Twinkies). The real issue is where the New England Confectionary COmpany wafer will be made as Spangler is in Ohio.
