One guy is obliviously talking on the phone while the other guy is recording the surroundings. Can you guess what will come by? This was recorded a week ago in Winfield, Kansas. -via Digg

I wonder why the phone itself can't take the video in both format regardless of the way it's being held. There's no "film" that dictate the ultimate format anyhow - so orientation of the phone really shouldn't matter.

Sounds and looks like a trailer for the next episode of The State of the Union.

It will have to be a redesign of the phone itself, if it ever happens. People are used to holding a phone upright, because that's the way we talk on phone calls. The fact that actual phone calls are a small part of their use today is irrelevant. The upright mode makes putting a viewing screen and a keyboard together simpler... so that's what they are used to now. My kids act like turning a phone from upright (texting orientation) to horizontal (TV mode) is a hassle.
