Avengers: Infinity War had the biggest opening weekend for a film ever, raking in $641 million globally. In North America, the movie made $257,698,183, or ten million more than the previous record-holder, The Force Awakens. In honor of the occasion, Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, sent a graphic greeting to Marvel Studios (which are both owned by Disney). What a crock! Since the price of tickets goes up every year, there will always be a new winner in the $$$ wars. But the only true way to measure success is by the number of tickets sold or the ratio of cost to profit. In the tickets sold category, GWTW from 1939 still reigns supreme. At 10 cents a ticket.
