The bottom of the world is the coldest place on earth, and is not conducive to human habitation. But people live there anyway, although not permanently, and not in the way we are used to. For one thing, what time is it? For another, what country are you in? And most important, how do you keep warm?

Update: Matthew Heyns brought up Emilio Palma, who was born in Antartica. I found out there have now been eleven people born on the continent!
I believe it was the Argentines who sent a pregnant woman to Antarctica to give birth. Would you consider that baby to be "Antarctican?"

I've been there and went without reason and zero planning. I was in Ushuaia and, back then at least (15 years ago), the adventure travel expedition ships that weren't booked to capacity would sell spaces for basically cost. I looked into it out of curiosity and the next day was onboard a ship, heading across the Drake Passage to spend 10 days on and around the Antarctic Peninsula. Was absolutely incredible.

I wonder how criminal jurisdiction would work if someone committed a crime away from one of the research stations.
