Once you are able to recognize them for what they are, the choice to indulge is totally yours. What is crappy content to one person might be just what another person is looking for. Facebook is a method of communication. Believing something just because it's on Facebook is like believing something because you heard it on the telephone. Facebook doesn't fact-check. Everything on Facebook came from somewhere else. You have to consider the source, and it's not Facebook.
I later found out this woman believed everything on TV, too. If the news aired someone's speech, she believed everything in the speech, because if it weren't true they wouldn't put it on television.
