Many Christmas-themed stories remind us to think of the orphans and the poor during the holidays, and even though this message is less present in modern Christmas stories the orphans are still out there hoping for a Merry Christmas.
So to remind everyone that this is supposed to be the season for giving let's take a look at some vintage photos shared by stjoekid which were taken at the St. Joseph Orphanage in Louisville, Kentucky some time during the 60s.
Now the orphans of today may not dress like these kids did, and most orphans today probably want electronic devices and toys where as these kids are happy just to get a dolly, a pair of shoes or a plush toy.
But just look at how happy these kids are to get anything at all and tell me you don't want to rush out right now and donate to your local orphanage.
That's the spirit of giving you feel welling up inside you, but you don't have to wait until next Christmas to make a difference in an orphan's life- donate to charities like SOS Children's Villages and show orphans you care all day, every day. Merry Christmas Neatoramanauts!
