10 Things You Didn’t Know about the Movie Twins

Pairing Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as brothers was a premise so ridiculous it had to be made into a movie. And so we got the 1988 film Twins. But if things had gone a little differently, Twins might have been made with other actors (try to imagine that). Let's learn a little more about the movie Twins.

10. Schwarzenegger made more off of this movie than any of the Terminator movies.

He made 20 percent from the profits and also made thousands from the international sales of the movie. It’s more than he would have made by just taking a flat salary.

4. Schwarzenegger started getting more comedy scripts sent his way after this film.

He’d never done a comedy before and as a result people started thinking that maybe he’d found a different role that he could cultivate. It was a new side of Arnold that most people hadn’t realized was there.

Arnold had made a comedy before Twins- believe or not, it was a western called The Villain starring Kirk Douglas. Arnold's character is called Handsome Stranger. The whole thing is essentially a live-action Roadrunner cartoon, and is actually pretty funny in a very lowbrow sort of way.
