Redditor shanekeith_ shared a letter his workplace received from a student somewhere far from Missouri. Even though he or she struggled to get three paragraphs, you can tell this kid is going places (although probably not Missouri, because he is only eleven). Honestly, if you were to received a letter from a stranger, wouldn't you rather see some humor and personality than a perfectly-composed business letter? Anyway, shanekeith_ works at Breakout KC, an escape room experience in Kansas City. He says they have plenty of cool stuff laying around, and will send the kid something that will blow his mind. If you can't read the letter, you can enlarge the image here.

I would love to send him information about the NM State University College of Agriculture, and a packet of seeds from the Chile Pepper Institute. I'd love for him to be inundated with semi-unsolicited information and artifacts from workplaces.

Send him a grammar and writing guide. It would be the biggest favor he'd ever receive.

I sometimes receive letters from students applying for an apprenticeship (although I never offered any). I'm always shocked at how bland and formal they are, so I just send back a formal response, the sort a machine would maybe produce. Since it's a creative job, I would really enjoy receiving messages that are more expressive, like this one.

I once received a letter with much worse grammar from a college senior who had essentially the same assignment. While I sent an answer, I also copied the teacher and the president of the college telling them that this is what the world would think of them and their their institution.
