People who went to themed eateries like Showbiz Pizza Palace as a kid have fond memories of watching the robot band The Rock-afire Explosion while eating crappy pizza and trying to win enough tickets for a big prize.
So when all Showbiz Pizza Place locations either closed or changed into Chuck E. Cheese's in 1992 fans of the Explosion were in shock, since part of their childhood had just beeen scrapped.
But 38-year-old Damon Breland wasn't ready to let those fond memories go, so he started buying up all the animatronics, interior decor and costumes he could find from the good old days of ShowBiz and Chuck E. Cheese's.
Now Damon's collection resides in an old abandoned gas station in Sandy Hook, Mississippi he renamed Smitty's Super Service Station, where lucky fans can go to see the Rock-afire perform like they did decades ago.

Damon's collection even includes The KING from Chuck E. Cheese's, which used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid for some reason. Now they all make my skin crawl...in a good way!
