For some inexplicable reason, inexplicable here meaning unable to be explained logically, Lake Lachrymose used to have its own baseball team. Nobody came to their games, their uniforms were moth-eaten and smelled of must, and half the team looked like they were going to drop dead of old age. And yet they continued to play ball because their manager Fingers Olafski threatened to throw them in the lake if they didn't comply. Fingers encouraged the team to travel to events and recruit players from other regions, and he was always going on about a brother and sister duo who would make the Lachrymose Leeches into a world-class ball team, and their baby sister who would carve out custom bats for the team with her front teeth...
