American Horror Story is an FX network TV series that bills itself as an anthology, but with a twist. Each season has a self-contained story, told in ten to 13 episodes. The different seasons/stories take place in different locations in different time periods, with a discrete cast of characters (although some actors return to play multiple characters). The experimental series has generally been well-received, with some stories faring better than others. Now that season six is over, how does it stack up against the other stories? TVOM ranked the six seasons so far: Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel, and Roanoke with a critique of each. If you are planning on catching up with American Horror Story later, there are no plot spoilers here.

Twistie was an original creation, IMO. Not one i liked because I have never been a fan of clowns, but still he was mesmerizing.

Agreed. Thought the latest one was terrible. Coven was my favorite. Loved the clown in freak show.

I thought season 2 'Asylum' was very good and thought Coven was a fun romp. The circus season was a bit of a turnoff and the hotel with Lady Gagme made it hard to watch. This latest installment? Nope. Sorry, but it's been lots of blood and guts but poor on plot, IMO. Die, die, all die, is just a sorry cheat, IMO.
