Michael Phelps is 31 years old and competing in his fourth Olympics. He’s won four gold medals so far in Rio, for a career total of 22 gold medals. Phelps took a picture with a young fan in 2008. His name is Joseph Schooling, and eight years later he represents Singapore in the Rio Olympics.
Yesterday, Schooling won the men’s 200 meter butterfly to earn Singapore’s first Olympic gold medal ever, beating Phelps, who tied for second place with Chad LeClos and Lazlo Cseh.
