Video games have come a long way from the days of Mario jumping over barrels and little yellow heads gobbling up glowing dots in a maze, but where are all the hybrid games we were promised? They said we'd get to see how Mario handles the baddies in Double Dragon, or how Shinobi would slay a giant Centipede, but instead we're stuck with all those great looking console games and hours of intense fun. We need to take it back to the old school and make Galaga Gaiden happen, or Dig Dug - Gauntlet edition, or Final Paperboy Fight, but it's probably best if we leave Pong lying in a hole along with all those Atari E.T. cartridges...
