Kids totally ate up the TMNT when they burst out of the sewer back in the 80s, but the show didn't actually make kids want to eat turtles. In fact, it did quite the opposite, as kids would never dream of devouring their heroes, and turtle fishing empires began to fall. But some dumb cookies were still looking to make a food based buck off the Ninja Turtles so they came up with crazy schemes to market their food to kids. One burger chain decided to make buns that looked like mutant turtle heads, and when that failed they started adding turtle meat to their patties to give it that cowabunga flavor.
