The amazing music Prince the recording artist shared with the world will live on forever, and whenever we hear doves cry or see purple rain falling we will think of the mega-talented Prince Rogers Nelson.
Prince played at least 27 different instruments, danced like a funky angel, and gave us his innovative blend of rock and funk so we can boogie our raspberry berets off without shame.
But he was also an incredibly gifted songwriter, who wrote a bunch of hit songs for other artists, including "Nothing Compares 2 U" for Sinead O'Connor.
Prince didn't like the foul language used by Sinead during press conferences, so the two butted heads and actually had what she described as a "punch up", which somehow seems like a fair match.
Madonna was another fair match for Prince, and shortly after the two dated Prince wrote the song "Love Song" which they recorded together for Like A Prayer in 1988.
And even though Prince didn't get any love when he recorded "I Feel For You" for his first album back in 79 he would later earn a Grammy for the song when Chaka Khan made it a huge hit in 1984.
So even if you didn't like the songs he recorded himself chances are there's a hit song out there with Prince's name on it that you do like.
