It must be amusing to work as an auto mechanic and watch all those wrecks and “there, I fixed it” jalopies roll in begging to be sent to that great big junkyard in the sky.
Oh the stories those mechanics must tell while sitting around the table at dinner time, tales of duct tape patch jobs and Coke can pipe repairs.
Hopefully when someone rolls in with one of these poorly patched up automobiles those kindly mechanics cut them a deal, because you know someone is broke when they can't even afford a new tire!

I was driving across the country when the pipe to the muffler broke like this. I first used a soda can, but that didn't last long. The soup can lasted long enough to get from Niagara Falls to western Michigan, where I got it fixed.
