If only nature would find a way to cover these oranges so we didn't need to waste so much plastic on them. pic.twitter.com/00YECaHB4D

Whole Foods got into a bit of public relations trouble last year when they sold asparagus water for $6. Now they’ve come up with a new convenience product: oranges, already peeled for you and then packaged in a hard plastic container that probably takes as long to open as it would to peel an orange. They cost $5.99 a pound. That’s a bit pricy for oranges, but remember, you’ve got to factor in the cost of someone peeling them for you, and the cost of the elaborate packaging, too. -via The Daily Dot
(Also, I totally buy precut fruit and veggies sometimes. Less prep=more likely for me to get my greens.)
Maybe whole foods or whoever should visit with better packaging ideas for accessibility and sustainability. I was glad to have the idea brought to my attention though. At first i was pretty appalled by the idea of a prepackaged orange, but knowing there are people that can't do something I take for granted is very eye opening that maybe the product wasn't meant for "me"
Though, I've seen Frozen brand grapes. And those are still the worst thing I've seen in a produce section.
