Because medical care requires an inordinate amount of trust in doctors, who have an inordinate amount of power over their patients, the Hippocratic Oath sets up standards for medical ethics. Although it is blessedly rare, some doctors pay no heed to the oath, and indeed use their training for nefarious, even horrifying, purposes. One nightmare scenario is the doctor who sexually violates his patients. I don't understand why Cecil Jacobson isn't facing 75 child support claims... Even a man who was a minor and statutorily raped is responsible for child support. Even anonymous sperm donors have been held responsible for child support... why not this idiot who was convicted of fraud?
